Blood, Sweat and Tears

In this commissioned piece, I painted a picture of my ski coach’s girlfriend who is on the national cycling team. I really enjoyed creating this painting and wanted to combine the concept of the amount of time and dedication it takes to become an elite athelite. Because it takes a lot of “blood, sweat and tears” to make it onto the podium of any sport, I used the colour red to depict the tires and the jerseys of the cyclists.
