Happy Birthday to Me

It comes only once a year - the day everyone celebrates us. But with Patient x’s medical condition now accelerating, reality sets in: this will be his last birthday. He sits in a stunning setting perched at the water’s edge. But his health now precludes further surfing - once his zen. Under a majestic weeping willow, his downcast silhouette speaks to the sadness that tinges his remaining thoughts. The birthday cake has much room left for additional candles that should rightfully be there next year; only a single slice of the cake has been enjoyed. The surfboard to the right will never be used again.
