If Charlie could see colour
If Charlie could see colour
This is a painting of Andy Warhol, one of my favorite artists. It was one of my earlier portraits of him and I enjoyed painting his trademark white locks. I also used a criss-cross pattern in the upper right of the painting which is something that I like to do. I have been asked why I called the painting “If Charlie could See Colour,” as this is a Warhol painting. The name actually comes from the fact that I was working on this painting and one of Chaplin at the same time, and I wondered what a conversation between the two might be like. I thought that Warhol would have probably influenced Chaplin in some way with his very bright and artistic personality.
