Matisse

I chose to do this painting because Matisse has been one of the most influential artists. One thing that I found very interesting about Matisse is that as he became older and his health failed him, he still pursued his art in different ways. In particular he cut our shapes and objects while being bedridden. I used a thick blue stripe at the bottom of the painting to highlight this particular idea.
